Mamason Koi is a family owned business operated by James, Angie and Mimi Kitchen. What began as a hobby ten years ago has grown into a thriving business. We are nestled in the foothills at the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains on a beautiful ten-acre farm. For quite a few years Mamason Koi has been breeding and raising American koi, as well as importing Nishikigoi from some of Japan's top breeders. All of our fish are quarantined for a minimum of thirty days and tested for KHV before we allow them to be sold. We pride ourselves on the health of both our imported and American koi.
A few times a year we make the trip to Japan to hand pick our fish directly from the breeder's select stock. If you need a particular variety and we don't have it on hand, we can locate the fish you are looking for.
Mamason Koi uses large natural mud ponds to grow out and condition our koi, as they do in Japan. Nishikigoi (Living Jewels) are one of the best stress relievers we have found. Adding a koi pond to your property can give you hours of pleasure and add more value to your home than a common swimming pool.
